ReplyBrower is innocent until proven guilty. If innocent I want her back shaking up the NJEA and BOE who want to protect their relatives. I like the fact that the students and teachers dislike her, it shows fearlessness in leadership and consistency in application of management philosophy. If she is found guilty, dump her. Keep Vanessa Clark in charge until those decisions are made. If Brower is reinstated, the taxpayers saved money, but reward Clark with a meritorious monetary award, which can be done outside of the contract terms. If Brower is fired then back pay Clark, at that time, if she gets the job. If she dosen't get the job and someone else does, besides Brower, Clark will leave anyway so save the money. My opinion only.

ReplyDoes anyone know if the law also covers medicinal marijuana? Is it considered toxic, if medicinal?

ReplyCan someone ask at the meeting TONIGHT if the three Lacey board memebers, who abstained from voting over withholding pay for the superintendant due to RELATIVES working for the district, will abstain from the searh for a new one, if it comes to that. Have the attorney, Mr. Stein, explain conflict of interest in a public format, if he dare!!! I would ask but, I am out of state.

ReplyNow that "medical marijuana" is coming to the marketplace, I am happy that the law speaks to substances that create toxic smoke. Is the marijuana considered toxic if it is deemed for medicinal purposes??? My opinion only.

ReplyRegular Board of Education meeting Monday night 5/20/2013. If you are all sooo concerned, be there and state your concerns. This is the type of meeting you should have been attending all those years that have passed and maybe you would not have all these current concerns. The past is gone, the future is in your hands. Don"t waste your opportunity again. When in town, I always attend, and am happy I do so. Whether they do what I request or not, they always have to answer my "concerns" for the record, in a public forum.

ReplyIt does not suprise me that all posters on this blog that are either educators or related to educators, refuse to acknowledge that, in the USA, a person is innocent until proven guilty. What a lynch mob mentality for people who are supposed to be educated! Are you all just part of the NJEA propaganda team? After all, this so called incident, or set-up, or staged event is the perfect situation to get rid of a BOSS that is making all you UNION MEMBERS work harder and produce more for the organizations shareholders, the Lacey taxpayers. Again, I think it fair to wait for justice to be served, and then make a decision on D. Brower's future in Lacey. If exonerated, I want her back to continue to rock that boat and make change in a poorly performing school district. I do not care what the UNION thinks, I care about the towns future and the loss of our kids. Yes, Maria, I guess I am "immature and disgusting" and politcally incorrect, and arrogant and all the other things I was called when I negotiated Union Contracts in the past. Just write my name on the bathroom walls, as usual, if you need to vent, my darling. It makes me want to aggravate you even more. Maybe the truth just hurts tooo much? My opinion only.

ReplyShe is doing the right thing. She is innocent until proven guilty. I just reviewed the emergency BOE meeting that was held Friday night now available on the channel 21 library. As I predicted on May 9, the attorney did all the talking. Martenck, Dowling , and especially Shubiger seemed nervous and did not vote due to their relatives being employed as school staff. Silly that they can vote on everything else and it is not a conflict????? They should be nervous. The teachers and the student that spoke surely spoke negatively about her because she is trying to institute positive change. Teachers measured performance standards, no smoking on school grounds(for students and employees), random drug testing(for students and all staff who are paid stipends to coach or mentor). Of course they hate her, she is upsetting the pig trough!! I hope she is found innocent, and returns quickly to continue to CLEAN UP A DIRTY HOUSE. As for class sizes, 19 is not a lot, check out other districts in the state with much better performance than Lacey. It is time for the teachers and administrators and RELATIVES, who are employed by the district, to work, to not just collect luxury benefits on the taxpayers backs. You all went to that meeting and as I said, you wasted your time. Next time go to the REAL meetings with Mr. Moss and Regina and make your time count. If I am in town, I will see you there, I hope. My opinion only.

ReplyThat "last" school board meeting, and the word ACCOUNTABLE must have REALLY scared the Union, teachers, and BOE members enough to have this incident just happen to pop up! Coincidence? Mr. Shubiger( current BOE President, spouse works for district), replaced Mr. Marteneck as BOE president (spouse works for district) replaced Ms. Downing as BOE president whose relative works for district?????? I sense a pattern here of who is actually in control of this BOE. Their family incomes may be affected, if accoutability is evenly and fairly applied without political influence of board members or Union leader influence. Her accountability will come under cross examination and under oath. I hope she says alot. My opinion only.

The current judicial system does not work when it comes to illegal drugs because the penalties are all wrong. It should be, if you are caught with illegal drugs, of any type, you must ingest them immediately and not be offered medical assistance for a minimum of 24 hours. The problem, of illegal drugs, will take care of itself and society will not miss those who choose to leave it!! No judges,no fines, no jails, just body bags and less pushers and users on the streets.
